THE AUTHOR
Kimberly Williams, a New York City native, has worked as an individual and family counselor, certified mediator, parent educator and facilitator in the Suffolk County Supreme Court, and has passionately worked with the youth population for many years.
She received her graduate degree from Fordham University School of Social Service with a clinical concentration and a specialization in children and families, and at the start of her career worked as a licensed professional within the education system.
Ms. Williams began the YLC Restoring The Princess Ministry in 2005. After reaching 100 young ladies, she excitedly continued forward to share the beauty of this ministry and make it available to others. Ms. Williams is the author of a curriculum and adolescent/teenage handbook. She has been a guest speaker at several events geared towards women, community empowerment, and Christian development such as the Young Adult Missionary Society. Ms. Williams continues to share this ministry with others and acts as a trainer and consultant of the curriculum. Her desire has been that Young Ladies of Character would go forth and richly impact the lives of young ladies globally.
Ms. Williams remembers what it was like to grow up in the suburbs of New York City. She remembers what it was like to deal with the peer-pressure of trying to fit in. She also felt it was important to be a good daughter and be supportive of her family. Ms. Williams attended Sunday School weekly, and attended ministries with activities geared towards females, but did not have a place to share what she was really going through. The YLC Restoring the Princess Ministry is a place for adolescent/teenage girls to come and unwind, talk about the daily challenges of life such as sex, drugs, and peer-pressure. Young ladies will realize how special they are and learn how to deal with the challenges they face from day to day.
Ms. Williams now, Kimberly Williams - Johnson resides in Richmond, VA with her wonderful husband. She continues to practice in the field of Social Work. She stays fit by taking daily walks with her dog and enjoys Virginia's parks and museums. Ms. Williams attends her local church weekly for spiritual growth.
